Student Expulsion Policy

1. Purpose

Allpro Truck Training Academy Inc. is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, professional and productive learning environment. This policy sets out the grounds and procedures that may lead to a student’s expulsion from the College.

2. Grounds for Expulsion

1. Serious Misconduct: Conduct that threatens the safety, security, dignity or well-being of students, instructors, employees, visitors or members of the public.

2. Violence or Threatening Behaviour: Physical violence, fighting, threats, intimidation, aggressive behaviour, possession of a weapon, or conduct creating a serious safety concern.

3. Harassment or Discrimination: Harassment, bullying, discrimination, abusive language or repeated inappropriate behaviour toward another student, instructor, employee or visitor.

4. Unsafe Conduct: Deliberately or repeatedly failing to follow safety instructions, including unsafe operation of trucks, training vehicles or equipment. Students must follow all lawful safety directions provided by instructors.

5. Alcohol or Drugs: Attending training while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs or another substance that makes participation unsafe, or prohibited possession or use during College activities.

6. Academic Dishonesty or Fraud: Cheating, falsifying documents, providing fraudulent information, impersonation, altering College records, or assisting another person in such conduct.

7. Damage, Theft or Misuse of Property: Theft, intentional damage, vandalism or serious misuse of College property, vehicles, equipment or another person’s property.

8. Repeated Policy Violations: Repeated failure to comply with College rules, instructor directions, attendance requirements, safety procedures or standards of conduct after appropriate notice and an opportunity to correct the behaviour, where appropriate.

9. Serious Disruption: Conduct that substantially interferes with instruction, training, College operations or the ability of other students to participate in their program.

10. Illegal Activity: Illegal activity on College premises, during College activities, or while using College vehicles or equipment where the activity affects safety or College operations.

3. Progressive Discipline

Where appropriate, the College may use verbal counselling, a written warning, corrective action, temporary suspension from training activities, or a final warning before expulsion. Serious misconduct may justify immediate action without progressive discipline.

4. Investigation and Student Response

Before a final expulsion decision, the College will review the circumstances and available information. Where reasonably possible and appropriate, the student will be informed of the concern and provided an opportunity to explain their position. The College will consider the circumstances before deciding whether expulsion or another corrective measure is appropriate.

5. Written Notice of Expulsion

If a student is expelled, Allpro Truck Training Academy Inc. will provide written notice identifying the reason or reasons for the decision and the effective date. Appropriate documentation relating to the decision will be maintained in the student’s records.

6. Immediate Safety Measures

If the College reasonably believes that a student’s continued presence creates an immediate safety or security concern, the student may be required to leave the premises or stop participating in training while the matter is reviewed. Temporary removal does not by itself constitute a final expulsion decision.

7. Fees, Refunds and Student Records

Following an expulsion, student records and any applicable refund or financial obligations will be handled in accordance with the student’s enrolment contract, applicable College policies, and the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and its regulations.

8. Sexual Violence

Incidents or complaints involving sexual violence will be addressed under Allpro Truck Training Academy Inc.’s Sexual Violence Policy and applicable Ontario requirements. Where required, that policy and applicable law will govern the process.

9. Student Complaint Procedure

A student who has concerns regarding the application of this policy may use the College’s Student Complaint Procedure, subject to any specific procedure required by applicable law.

10. Policy Administration

The College will apply this policy consistently and maintain appropriate records concerning disciplinary and expulsion decisions. Students are expected to read, understand and comply with College rules and standards throughout their enrolment.
